Schilling's Garden Market
Dubbed “The Patch with a View,” this Bend local favorite is close to town, charming in every season, and worth a visit in the fall for their pumpkin selection, kids' hay maze, and locally made food and drinks. The sweeping Cascade views are an added bonus!
Smith Rock Ranch and DD Ranch
For a more expansive pumpkin patch experience with spectacular views, Smith Rock Ranch and DD Ranch are both worth the 35 minute drive north to Terrebonne. Situated with views of the iconic Smith Rock State Park, both offer family activities and a beautiful high desert backdrop that's unlike anything you'll find at a typical pumpkin patch. Fall Foliage in Bend, Oregon
Bend isn't Vermont, but the fall color here is beautiful in its own way. Late September through early October tends to be the sweet spot for color.

The trail network winds through old-growth ponderosa pines along Tumalo Creek, and the combination of deciduous trees along the creek banks and the towering pines overhead creates a layered fall color experience that's perfect for a slow morning walk. Drake Park along Mirror Pond in downtown Bend is a local favorite for meandering in the fall. The trees lining the park turn a beautiful gold, and when they drop, you’ll find people raking the leaves and jumping in the piles. Riley Ranch Nature Reserve on Bend's northwest edge offers a quieter fall hiking experience with stunning Cascade views and the Deschutes River winding below. Less crowded than Shevlin even in peak season, and particularly lovely in the fall light. Note that dogs are not allowed here.
Tumalo State Park just north of Bend features riverfront trails and picnic areas along the Deschutes River with good fall color and easy access for families.
Bond Street near the Old Mill District offers a surprisingly lovely urban fall foliage experience. The tree-lined street turns golden in October and is a beautiful spot for a walk between the Old Mill shops and downtown.
