The Details

A Bit More About This Property

The Ranch Guesthouse sits quietly on one of Bend's most beloved Westside streets — just one block above the energy of Newport and Galveston Avenues, where you'll find local coffee, craft breweries, boutique shops, and some of the best food in Central Oregon. Step outside and you're in it. Step inside and you'd never know.

**Please note, this guesthouse shares 2 walls with the main house; it is not a separate structure!**

THE SPACE

A fully self-contained studio guesthouse with rustic ranch character and light, airy finishes. The bedroom features a plush king bed dressed in fresh linens — the kind of sleep you actually remember. The open-concept living and kitchen area is warm and functional, with a mobile island, comfortable seating, and everything you need to cook a real meal or just make your morning coffee. The living area also has a pull-out sofa bed that comfortably sleeps two additional guests — ideal for a group of three or four.

KITCHEN

Fully equipped for real cooking — gas range, dishwasher, full fridge and freezer, toaster, drip coffee maker, and a complete set of cookware, utensils, and tableware. Dish soap and hand soap provided. Newport Avenue Market, one of Bend's best local groceries, is just one mile away.

LAUNDRY

In-unit washer and dryer, free for guest use. Detergent provided. Note: the washer has a loud agitation cycle — completely normal and works perfectly.

YOUR PRIVATE YARD

Step out back to a private yard with a wood-burning firepit and four red chairs — the perfect spot to wind down after a day on the trails or mountain. Bring your dogs — this is a partially fenced private yard and they are very welcome here. Please note: Bend's burn ban is in effect during summer months (approximately June–September), so the firepit is available October through May only.

LOCATION

Westside Bend is the neighborhood guests come back for. You're a short walk from Newport Avenue Market, Back Porch Coffee Roasters, 10 Barrel Brewing, Chow, Bosa, and the full stretch of Newport and Galveston Avenues. Downtown Bend and Drake Park are about 5 minutes by car or 10 minutes by bike, 25 min by foot. Phil's Trail for mountain biking and hiking is 10 minutes away. Mt. Bachelor is about 25 minutes — allow extra time during peak ski season.

Guests will receive a custom smart lock door code 3 days before check in as long as rental agreement is signed.

This is professionally managed by Sojourn Homes LLC, a locally owned and operated vacation rental management company in Bend, Oregon. We are available 24/7 for guest needs.

The Ranch Guesthouse is tucked into a quiet, established Westside neighborhood just one street above the action of Newport and Galveston Avenues — Bend's most beloved local corridor. Walk to coffee, restaurants, breweries, and boutiques in minutes, or hop on a bike and coast down to Drake Park and the Deschutes River. This is the local Bend experience — residential, walkable, and genuinely charming.

Newport Avenue Market: 3 min / 1 mile. Back Porch Coffee Roasters: 3 min. Downtown Bend: 5 min by car / 10 min by bike. Drake Park: nearby. Phil's Trail: 10 min. Mt. Bachelor: 25 min. Redmond Airport: 25-30 min.

- This is an ATTACHED guesthouse. You will share two walls with the main home where we live. These 2 walls are the kitchen wall and the laundry wall - so far away from the bedroom which remains very quiet space (we've had travel nurses stay who sleep during the day and LOVE this space!)

- Walking to the guesthouse requires walking up a long driveway and along side of house which is graveled; those with mobility issues please be advised

- Parking: One designated parking spot in front of the fence (street-side). Street parking also available.

- Firepit: Wood-burning firepit available October through May only (City of Bend burn ban in summer).

- Washer is loud during agitation cycle — works perfectly, just a quirk of this machine.

- Entry is via the back of the home — follow the driveway past the carport, around your private yard with red adirondak chairs, to the yellow back door. Gravel path — take care if wet.

While this place is connected to their home, we found it to be a peaceful place to sleep. Bed is comfortable, shower has good water pressure, it was clean and Meg was very good at communicating with us. It’s a nice neighborhood where you will see deer at different times of the day. We were greeted by four of them upon arrival. We walked to nearby businesses for coffee and breakfast. Meg is upfront (on the listing) that you will need to walk up a long driveway and to the back of the house. You will need to carry your luggage most of the way as there is gravel and mulch. Too difficult to roll a suitcase back there. We didn’t have any trouble as we had small suitcases and backpacks. We enjoyed our stay.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay! The location was perfect for exploring the Bend area, and the kitchen was thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed. We especially appreciated the drip coffee maker. The welcoming scent when we entered made the space feel warm and inviting right away, which makes a big difference in creating a comfortable atmosphere. We also greatly appreciated the clear communication regarding parking and access to the residence. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we would absolutely stay here again!
